How far can you go for your love? || The White Masai - True story

Image
The most striking question posed on the people who are fallen in love is “ How far can you go for your love? “ And at times we may get sarcastic replies like heroes going for their ladylove to America or Allepy can only be seen in Gautam Vasudev Menon’s movies, taking the literal meaning of the question. On that note, a true story has happened but here to our wonder, a ladylove has flapped her wings sans borders, language, culture for the love she had grown for her man. The name of the movie is “The White Masai”, one of the most impactful movies I have seen and would like to share my experiences. Since I use to stay alone at night times I do watch TV and will fall asleep as the TV is on. At times I used to wake up around 3.30 A.M or 4 A.M and will not feel sleepy. So I used to watch TV and will fall asleep again. One such day, I suddenly woke up around 3.45 A.M and was not feeling sleepy at all. I was switching between the channels and that is when suddenly I saw a scene in a movie whe

Crime by a few puts the service of others in vain

The lock-up death of a father and the son in Saathaankulam of Thuthukudi district by two police officers is really disheartening. This is not the first case but still when the whole nation is already suffering due to the COVID-19 and when the police force is at the very need in controlling and securing the public, such cases are really condemnable. The crime by a few ends up blaming the entire police department and I myself a proud daughter of a policeman is really worried about those officers who are sincere and passionate about their duty. I would like to share the positive faces of the police which I witnessed personally during my father’s service period. Around the year 2000, there was a focus on the behavior of the police and the then chief minister wanted to ensure the police-public smooth relationship. A project called “Kaavalthurai Ungal Nanban” was introduced meaning Police are your friends. Under this project, certain protocols were prescribed to the police. When the public a

I am that kind of person who has grown watching cinemas and many movies that I have watched have created a huge impact on me. Movies are the biggest entertainments of my life and beyond that, I have learned a lot of things through movies. Be it psychological, philosophical, or factual I have gained a lot of insights from the flicks. Dasavatharam is one flick which got released on 13 June 2008, if have released earlier in around March month of that year could have secured me a service in UPSC possibly. I would like to share a small interesting narration about it. In the year 2008, I was selected for the UPSC interview in the month of April and that was my first UPSC interview after two attempts in civil services. The chairman of my interview board was none other than Mr. Balagurusamy, the ‘OOPS’ man who authored the famous book called Object-Oriented Programming with C++ which is the bible of software engineers of those times. Interestingly, it was his first time too as an interviewer f

Honor killing - Equally deadly to the couple's friends || True story

Image
Today after the high court judgment in Udumalaipet Shankar - Kausalya case, Honor killing is the talk of the town. Media is summarizing similar cases and people are so frustrated about caste fanaticism and the young couple who were murdered in the name of honor killing. I would like to place a point that even the friends who support or help these couples also get affected at times which also should be brought under the limelight. Here I am sharing a true story of a double murder case solved by my father based on my point. Around twenty years back, my father was serving as Inspector of Police. One morning when he was busy with the case files in the police station, a shepherd boy came running to the station. When enquired he said that he saw human bones in the hilly area where he took his herd for grazing. Immediately my father and his crew reached the spot and found a human skeleton with a few left out flesh meaning the body has been disposed of here a few days back. When the crew inten

Yoga scores a bit more in fitness || International Yoga Day

Image
International Yoga Day is being celebrated on 21 June since 2015 after the recognition by the United Nations. So on this day, I would like to share my experience which I went through in the few days of my yoga journey. I have been into both Yoga and Gym, somewhere I have a feel that Yoga score a little bit more than the gym workouts. It was during my last attempt at the civil services exam when I joined Yoga for loss of weight. Rohini Manoharan , a charming young lady with a beautiful smile always on her face was my instructor. The positive vibes she possessed were the real catalyst during our yoga sessions and that is where I realized that getting a proper guru is the foremost thing in the Yoga. Completely Natural Yoga has its origin in our very own land India which is a boon provided by the great guru Patanjali . Now yoga has reached every nuke and corner of the world and to our wonder, it is practiced more by others than us. All you need to do yoga is a piece of pure cloth or yoga

Sushanth Singh Rajput - What the sad ending teaches us

Image
I know that discussing or debating about someone’s death is not quite okay. But Sushanth Singh Rajput’s decision of suicide has a lot to teach this society. We keep running behind money, fame, power, etc but Sushanth has broken the myth that these materialistic things can not give you happiness or satisfaction. Life is something beyond these things that everyone should understand and learn to value. After the sad ending of Sushanth, we can see many untold stories bringing the grey part of Bollywood to the limelight. The jargon ‘Nepotism’ is being discussed widely which is being blamed to have shackled the Bollywood and is the very reason for the death of Sushanth. Nepotism is when popular personalities of any field try to form a web of their close affinities and neglect outsiders. This ends up in a kind of oligarchy where the opportunities will be shared among this network while the outsiders will be denied of all chances even though they may be well deserving. The same thing is allege

Hitler's Mein Kampf || My excerpts

Image
When we hear the word ‘Dictator’ a very few names will jump into our minds and one important name among those is Adolf Hitler. His autobiography ‘Mein Kampf’ is one of the best sellers which came in two volumes, the first one in 1925 when he was imprisoned and the second one was published in 1927. Originally written in German but was translated into almost 11 languages.  The first volume is titled ‘A reckoning’ where he talks about his childhood and the initial period of his ideological development. The second volume is titled ‘National social movement’ talks about how his ideals got shaped into a party. If one goes through these volumes will find out that Hitler focusses only on a few aspects and he keeps on repeating them in different ways. Maybe it is due to his lack of clarity in expressing his thoughts in a contained way or maybe intentionally done to push his ideas into the minds of the reader, which is known only to Hitler. Ultra Nationalism The first and foremost thing he focus
