Astitva - Movie review || Impactful movies

Image
Astitva meaning identity is one of many films that had created a deep impact on me, especially the climax, about which I would like to share in this article. The movie is a bilingual movie released in both Hindi and Marathi languages in the year 2000. Sachin Khedekar plays the male lead while the main lead is the female character played by Tabu. It also casts Mohnish Bahl, Sunil Barve, Namrata Shirodkar, etc. The movie is written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The movie deals with the intensity of relationships and its pros and cons as created by the situations and circumstances. The synopsis of the movie is there lives a happy family consisting of a married couple with their son. A party is being celebrated on the occasion of the arrival of a family friend during which a courier comes in the name of the wife. The husband receives the courier and opens to find a will reading that the entire property of an old musician is transferred to the name of the wife. This leaves everyone conf

People who know me even for a short period of time will definitely know that I am a great fan of Superstar. It all started in 1987 and till now the fanism did not fade but is shining even better. On 31st December 2017, Thalaivar has announced his political entry which actually was being expected by many from the year 1996 even though he never said so. From then he was being severely criticized that the announcement is a publicity stunt and he is trying to fish from the turbulent waters. It does not mean that earlier he was not criticized, then also he received a lot of criticisms both positive and negative but they were mild in nature. Even though he did not announce anything about his political entry he was seen as a terrifying political figure by many politicians. The spark was triggered in the year 1995 on the stage of Basha’s success meet when Rajini remarked about the increasing bomb blast culture in Tamilnadu which was taken as a negati

Yuval's Sapiens serves a severe blow on the arrogance of humans

Yesterday I came across two news which really made me feel sad. The first one is a video showing a small kid who was infected by Corona, was carrying his belongings in a small bag, and was reaching out to the Corona ward. He could not carry the bag but still was using all his strength and was walking towards the ward directed by the health personnel. I am not sure whether Coronavirus is an intended bio war but if that is the truth then I would say humans are no more civilized but engulfed with the thirst of domination over others. When we elders are so frightened to go outside because of this fear and every day witnessing people flying back to their homes by any available means just to escape loneliness more than the fear over the virus, what will be the mental situation of that kid who is to be quarantined away from his mother and family. The panic is worse than the virus and the mental trauma he is going to suffer now will be throughout his life. Who is going to take responsibility?

My choice is Draupadi rather than Sita or Kannagi || Mahabharat life lessons

Image
First of all, I would like to clarify one thing that my intention is not to do a raw comparison of Draupadi, Sita, and Kannagi and applaud one while degrading others. I know all these three characters are unique and special in their own way. But I am just trying to point out certain features in their characterization and my choice will be based on the principles I believe and follow. No intention to offend anyone’s faith or belief. We all know that Mithila’s King Janaka got Sita in a field while plowing but from then she led a life of a princess while the same with Kannagi who was born to a rich merchant of the city and had a happy childhood. Draupadi was born as a blessing from altar fire out of the ritual performed by the King Dhrupad. But she was not welcomed with joy by her stereotypic father who opted for a son to fulfill his revenge on Dronacharya and considered Draupadi as an unwanted arrival.  When he was insisted to receive her he prayed all curses to be filled in her life and

Negatives of hitting a gym || Fun facts

In the previous article, I shared my experience of positive gains we acquire through gymming. But apart from losing a few pounds of weight, there are a few other things we gonna lose. Let me list out them which are really a serious issue. First and foremost is the sympathy that people going to show on you on losing your weight. It is the same set of folks who would have given you a thousand pieces of advice on shredding out the extra flesh. When you proudly turn up in front of them after a quiet transformation expecting praises and applauses, all is what you are going to get is their pity. When the same happened to me I was really confused about whether to continue my workouts or to quit abruptly. People will really make you feel as if you have ended up as a pauper starving for food. But later we realized that it is not the pity what they are showing but in reality they were jealous of our transformation. It may sound overconfident but the majority’s behavior has raised this thought. O

Make fitness your lifestyle

Basically am a foodie means my physique used to be hefty to which I never turned my focus since I was not worried about it much because my height saved me from looking abnormal. Eventually, I developed problems like joint pain and lethargicness and started feeling lazy even to do my daily routine. Even then I was not cautious about my fitness. Last year one of my juniors wanted to join a gym and we started our search for a good one. One of my neighbors suggested a gym that was recently opened in our area. We went for inquiry and found the gym atmosphere to be fine but my junior was a bit hesitant in joining it alone. The gym was just a few buildings away from my house so just a thought sprang in my mind to join along with her just to accompany her and shred a few kgs of fat. When I joined the gym, to be honest, I did not have any target in my mind because still, fitness was not my pick. And more importantly, I was very particular in not taking a personal trainer to coach me fearing of

After my graduation, I started my civil services preparation to achieve my life ambition. It consisted of three stages - Preliminary which is of MCQ type, Mains being descriptive type and personality test being the last stage. So for Preliminary and Mains examination, it was mandatory to select two subjects as optional. Twenty plus subjects were listed out along with the unit portions so that it will be easier for the candidates to select their desired subjects. I was from an engineering background but computer science which was my major was not available. So I preferred to select from an Arts background. As I went through the units of various subjects one optional seemed to be so interesting, that is Sociology. The units were about human relationship patterns and societal setups which seemed to be so familiar and easier to learn for a fresher like me. Not only that but I always had an interest in the evolution of man and society. This basic interest also attracted to me towards Sociol
