Make fitness your lifestyle
Basically am a foodie means my physique used to be hefty to which I never turned my focus since I was not worried about it much because my height saved me from looking abnormal. Eventually, I developed problems like joint pain and lethargicness and started feeling lazy even to do my daily routine. Even then I was not cautious about my fitness.
Last year one of my juniors wanted to join a gym and we started our search for a good one. One of my neighbors suggested a gym that was recently opened in our area. We went for inquiry and found the gym atmosphere to be fine but my junior was a bit hesitant in joining it alone. The gym was just a few buildings away from my house so just a thought sprang in my mind to join along with her just to accompany her and shred a few kgs of fat.
When I joined the gym, to be honest, I did not have any target in my mind because still, fitness was not my pick. And more importantly, I was very particular in not taking a personal trainer to coach me fearing of hardcore workouts and overflowing sweats. All I wanted to do was the Cardio session and no other workouts. The gym had a procedure of appointing a trainer to every client who instructs a schedule accordingly. Later I understood what a good trainer can do to you even when you are not taking a personal training session.
Initially, when my trainer instructed me floor workouts I was confused and frustrated that why the hell I should do all these things when I did not opt for personal training because I had in my mind that only when you opt for it your coach will focus on it. But my trainer had his own style of coaching every client and was too passionate about fitness. I even had doubts that he is taking sort of revenge because I use to play pranks and pull his legs all the time. But as my transformation graph showed an incredible growth I was convinced that something good is actually happening.
I just want to list out the positives things that happened to me for hitting the gym even without intending. Firstly, as everyone knows the main purpose of gym is to shred out unwanted fat and become fit. I lost around 20 kgs in a span of four months which I feel is a really good count. Secondly, I started cooking. Yes! For the past twenty years am staying away from home and use to get my food from the mess about which my mother was always worried about. The reasons are so simple. I do not know cooking and I was so lazy to cook.
When my trainer suggested a diet plan I was damn sure that it is not going to work for a foodie like me who can bend the sky but can not compromise with taste. I thoroughly traced the social media to find out recipes that are easy to cook with minimal ingredients and zero percent compromise in taste. Finally, I had my own diet chart, and diet cooking was easy and fun which made me skip outside food completely. At last, my mom was free from her worries about my food intake.
Thirdly, all of a sudden I started feeling so energetic and was totally out of my laziness. Before gymming, if I have to go out for shopping I always prefer eating outside. But after being into fitness I really developed the habit of either cooking before going outside or cook after returning home but strictly no outside food. Fourthly, I was out of all pain, not only the joint pains but miraculously was out of periods pain. This one was really unexpected. Rest other positives are generally what every person expects like a good physique, fit into outfits of one’s desire, and look younger than one’s age.
Fitness is no more a part of our life because it has already become our lifestyle. When our friends chat, fitness definitely becomes one of the default topics. I have developed enough knowledge in basic fitness and my transformation has acknowledged this knowledge of mine has made many of my friends to clarify their fitness doubts from me. At times I even had the thought of pursuing my career as a fitness trainer. Too much confidence right? That is what fitness gives you as a whole. So I would suggest “Do not follow fitness as a part of life instead, make it a lifestyle”.
