Shivaji Rao is same then and now || 1995 DD Interview

People who know me even for a short period of time will definitely know that I am a great fan of Superstar. It all started in 1987 and till now the fanism did not fade but is shining even better. On 31st December 2017, Thalaivar has announced his political entry which actually was being expected by many from the year 1996 even though he never said so. From then he was being severely criticized that the announcement is a publicity stunt and he is trying to fish from the turbulent waters.




It does not mean that earlier he was not criticized, then also he received a lot of criticisms both positive and negative but they were mild in nature. Even though he did not announce anything about his political entry he was seen as a terrifying political figure by many politicians. The spark was triggered in the year 1995 on the stage of Basha’s success meet when Rajini remarked about the increasing bomb blast culture in Tamilnadu which was taken as a negative mark on the administration of then chief minister Ms.Jayalalitha. 

In 1995 when Rajini was at his peaks of superstardom and his speech on bomb blast caught every corner like a forest fire, Doordarshan planned to telecast an interview of him which is of a sort of question-answer type where the public is allowed to send their questions from which the program team will select a few interesting questions to which Thalaivar has to reply and that will be telecasted on TV. I was lucky enough to watch the program. Recently the video clipping of that interview has been released and is running viral on social media.

After seeing the clippings many will be clarified about how his ideologies which are the same then and now. Most importantly his political entry announcement and his strategy of being the party leader and not sitting in the ruling seat are not any newly developed publicity stunt but these were his ideas right from the starting based on the principles he has believed all these years. Its been a very long time so even I have forgotten these things. Now after seeing those clippings I was amazed to know how he is following his ideals like a rock and never settles for any compromise.


The replies are crystal clear and still, he utters the same replies for those questions. One of the fans has asked whether he will change his ideology for someone and the star replies never in his own style. That is very true till now. I know for sure that even after seeing these clippings many will still criticize him and will not accept the reality because that is what they are intended to. But as an ardent fan, I felt very happy to glance through those clippings.


The above clippings are a fitting reply to people who question my affection for him and me calling him Thalaivar. Now it is clarified that he is well deserved to be called so and I am even more proud to be his fan. And these replies will make people understand why he is being loved as a person more than as an actor by his followers.

Stylish pillars of Pallavas

  A member from a group interested in architecture posted a picture of the pillars from a temple he visited recently. The column was based on a seated lion. He mentioned that it belongs to the Pallava architecture. I suddenly remembered that I saw a similar one somewhere recently. When I searched the album, I found a broken pillar with a seated lion as its base, and it was lying in a corner in the rockfort temple in Trichy. I am fond of lions. So, I clicked its picture accidentally. And the Pallava’s rock cut temple is at the top and the bottom of the rockfort hill. So, it was clear that the broken pillar belonged to the Pallava architecture. I was curious to know more about the Pallava style of columns.
