Magadheera || Close to the heart movie

Magadheera - a close to the heart movie, not because of the content but because of the experience it gave. Storywise, it is a fantasy movie about rebirth and revenge over a span of 400 years. But it became an industry hit only because of the screenplay and direction topped with mindblowing CG works and mesmerizing music. The movie was released on 30th July 2009 but I got to watch by 1st January 2010 during my new year trip to Bangalore. We were about to watch Avatar but forgot to prebook so were left with no tickets. One of our friends suggested Magadheera as an alternative.

When I heard that it was released by July itself, I was hesitant to watch an old movie on new year’s day that too a Telugu movie, but two things made me watch it. Firstly, if a movie can have a long run in another state then definitely it must be worth watching. Secondly, as a Superstar fan, I always cherished his friends in other industries, so as I heard that the hero of the movie is Ramcharan, son of Megastar Chiranjeevi, I decided to watch it. I was not disappointed when I saw the remix of Bangaru Kodi Petta song, a mindblowing number from Chiranjeevi’s movie, and surprisingly his cameo at the end of the song.

As the movie started getting into the real plot, I forgot all other things and found myself getting deeply involved in it. As the movie ended, I was already a great fan of Ramcharan and Rajamouli. The major applause goes to Rajamouli for proving that how important is the captain of the ship, that is the director of the movie for its grand success, along with his crew. I was even more amazed when he tore off the criticisms that the success was due to the casting of Megastar’s son supported by Chiranjeevi’s stardom, with his next project Maryada Ramanna in which he roped in the comedian Sunil as the hero and with a very simple comedy commercial provided a grand success.

My personal experience was so wonderful with post-Magadheera when I entered the official Orkut community of Ramcharan. I was a bit hesitant as a new non-Telugu speaking member from another state but to my surprise, I was received with a very warm welcome by the mega fans. The friends, brothers, and sisters I got there became special ones in my life and many are still in contact. I learned speaking basic Telugu conversation through them and when they happened to visit Chennai, they made it a point to meet me. I received so much support and affection that I became one of the moderators of the community. People may see it as just a social media platform but the experience and relations it gave to me are priceless.

My fan moment was during the release of its Tamil version Maaveeran on 27th May 2010, when I jumped out of excitement and went to the level of interviewing a few audiences in the theatre with my mobile. Crazy isn’t it? Well, that is my style! Have added those links at the bottom. My fanism for Charan did not stop here. I received an invitation to his marriage celebration which he arranged exclusively for fans. This made my first Hyderabad visit possible. Was totally excited and lucky enough to see the entire mega family. It was a great adventurous sort of experience. Magadheera gave so many wow moments to me and will remain a movie close to the heart always.
